Summary
Little Thing is seeking an Operations Specialist to support our day-to-day and long-term operational functions. As part of a small team working with our Director of Operations, you’ll touch many areas of the business, including accounting, people operations, grant management, finance, and events. You'll be empowered to learn and grow as you tackle increasingly complex tasks within our evolving organization.
About Little Thing
Little Thing is a small but mighty team of communications, research, fundraising and advocacy campaigning experts working with prominent, influential clients on national issues. We advise major national advocacy and research organizations, as well as large charitable foundations that support them. While our portfolio is evolving, we primarily focus on projects related to climate change, clean energy and the protection of our democracy.
You might be a great candidate if you have the following demonstrable knowledge, skills and/or experience:

Experience handling payroll, finance, and accounts payable/receivable operations, including: bill processing, reimbursements, reporting, and monthly reconciliations.

Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal withholding, unemployment, and FMLA/paid leave laws and regulations.

Experience with the procurement, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of employee benefits, including comprehensive healthcare policies, life and disability insurance policies, and 401k accounts.

An understanding of the grant-making cycle, from prospecting through reporting and renewal, and/or experience managing a growing grant portfolio.

Previous event planning experience, which could include vendor selection and contract negotiation, logistics, or day-of coordination for professional events and meetings.

Organizational skills that help you and your team stay on top of competing deadlines, anticipate and resolve challenges, and successfully implement ambitious projects and initiatives.

Previous operations work within a growing organization.

Willingness to travel as needed.

Ability to learn on the job is essential.

Salary range:
$65,000-$80,000
